Data Centre – Case Study

February 17th, 2016

Service Type:  Data Centre Design and Migration

Client Type:  Banking

Location: Hong Kong

This Investment Banking client engaged our services to provide design services and project management for their Data Center relocation programme.  The key challenges were not only to provide a design for the new facility that would allow for growth, but also to plan and execute an aggressive migration plan for the live environment.

Working with the Consultant Design Team, we were able to develop a modular technology infrastructure design with clear day one and day two space allocations, clearly defined containment and routing methodologies and resilience for all systems.

All successful relocation projects are predicated upon a common factor:  Accurate and detailed inventory of systems and hardware and their inter-dependencies.  With this at the forefront of our plan, we undertook a full audit of the client’s existing environment to provide and full visual representation of the facility with cabinet and frame elevations, connectivity schematics and application inventories and equipment inventories.  With this foundation WIT were able to develop and execute the migration plan with zero unplanned downtime for the client.
